I'm not sure about the background on this one.
The stark black-and-white screen almost overpowers the figure. My favorite part of this painting is the head and torso. It's nice to paint some bare flesh for a change!
I think the stark white background works with Rain because it makes her seem more like a performer because the setting is dramatic. It add some mystery to the composition.
