Michael and Signe

The last two models for the evening session were Michael and Signe.  Both were great fun to draw.  These drawings are in pastel on paper that has been treated with pastel ground.

Lury

Drawing Lury for the first time was fun. 
The pastel portrait has a nice sense of volume but
doesn't really look like Lury.

Carrie, Eden, and Jenny

After a long hiatus, I got back to the Firehouse for a couple of evening sessions featuring Carrie, Eden, and Jenny.  It was great fun to draw again.  I was very out of practice, though, and had trouble getting good likeneses.  (The pastel portrait of Eden is a terrible likeness, though I like it otherwise.)

A gouache painting I did of the model Eden, a preview for next Tuesday's (12/17/13) evening session. We'll be drawing him in two morning sessions in January.

I found his situation rather funny, brown man in the midst of all those pink bosoms!

Evening Paintings

These are two paintings done in the evening painting group recently. The light changes a lot in the evening as the days are becoming longer and it starts out light in the gallery and then changes. I enjoy working with the changes.    Karen
